chrysalis 2022
machine embroidered surface on hand felted ground made with wool from a mutton lamb
The pattern is derived from a photograph of an oak tree from the Journal of the Northamptonshire Natural History Society & Field Club, Northampton: Stanton & Son, 1880-81. Vol.I, p.1
It was developed using a process in couture embroidery used to transfer image onto cloth called “prick & pounce.”
